435 km/h, this is the crazy top speed that have been verified in the Henessy Venon GT.
The Henessy Venon GT is a 7-liter V8 biturbo engine car with 1,244 hp. It has a total weight of 1,244kg, so it offers a power-weight ratio of a CV by kilo. It can accelerate from 0 to 300 km/h in just 13.63 seconds. If we were to travel from Barcelona to La Coruña with a Henessy Venon GT in its maximum speed, we could do 1,088km in 2:30h.
Its chassis comes from the Lotus Exige and the engine is from the Corvette ZR1, who belongs to General Motors. Interestingly, it takes about 6 months to produce each Henessy Venon GT. Furthermore, each time a test is performed to assess their maximum speed, a new set of wheels must be used, since this car can’t ride more than 25 km with them due to their incredible wear.
Henessy is an American sports brand car. Unexpectedly, after beating the Bugatti Veyron record on the NASA’s takeoff runways, they said that they came in short. Meaning that that they were sure that if the runways had been even longer, their car could have reached a higher top speed, probably about 447 km/h.
After selling 11 units, they started planning for 29 more of them, each one at a price of 1 million dollars. Unless they manufacture 30 identical units and run the same track in both directions, they won’t be part of the Guinness World Records. It’s important to point out that the same track must be run in both directions to ensure that its slight slope is compensated and that it doesn’t alter its maximum speed.
