You might be familiar with the story of Laika the Soviet space dog, but have you heard about the time NASA sent two frogs to space in their own little custom spacecraft? Bizarrely, the Orbiting Frog Otolith program sent two bullfrogs into orbit around Earth in 1970, in an attempt to study the effects of weightlessness upon the inner-ear balance mechanism of the two frogs in space. Besides, scientists were happy to realise that frogs had no issues breathing.
